Removing Barriers, Uplifting Survivors: A Feminist, Anti-Oppressive Approach To Human Trafficking

In collaboration with Women and Gender Equality Canada, the Surrey Women’s Centre embarked on a comprehensive initiative addressing the critical issue of human trafficking.

Spanning a duration of three years, this project not only provided an in-depth exploration of the matter but also illuminated numerous aspects that are pivotal for community awareness.

To further share the insights garnered from this extensive project, the Surrey Women’s Centre has crafted a three-part webinar series. This series delves into the intricate dynamics, prevailing issues, and the historical backdrop surrounding human trafficking. It offers viewers a lens to understand the complexities and multi-faceted nature of the issue. One of the profound takeaways we anticipate for our audience is a heightened awareness of the myriad reasons victims of trafficking often remain silent, shrouded in reluctance to seek assistance. Moreover, this webinar series aims to equip viewers with best practice methodologies, ensuring they are well-prepared and informed about supporting and assisting the victims of this grievous crime effectively.
