April 12-16, 2021 is Prevention of Violence Against Women Week – a week dedicated to the plight of women and girls facing violence throughout their lives.

Surrey Women’s Centre is committed to taking action to prevent and eliminate all gender-based violence. Each year we commemorate Prevention of Violence to be held on the 3rd week of April. Our goal is simple — to raise awareness and to provide survivors access to safety, justice and a path to equality.

Statistics Canada reports that more than three-quarters of all victims in criminal harassment cases are women. Surrey Women’s Centre works in collaboration with many other service providers in our community to bring together key players and build-up our capacity to address growing problem.
