No Diapers = No Work
Having enough disposable diapers doesn’t just mean that babies will be free of rashes and infections, it also means that single moms can go to work and support their families.
1 in 2 children that live in single-parent families in BC are poor, and women head 83% of single parent families.
Most childcare facilities won’t take babies without a supply of disposable diapers ahead of time. Most do not accept cloth diapers for sanitary reasons. So it is absolutely vital that single mothers have enough disposable diapers for their children.
If a mother can’t go to work, she can’t put food on the table and a roof over her children’s heads. A lack of clean diapers therefore perpetuates poverty.
You can help mothers and children in need by sharing this post on Facebook or sending an eCard now.
For every share on Facebook, Shoppers Drugmart will donate 1 diaper to a mother in need. For those not familiar with Facebook, Shoppers Drugmart will donate a diaper for every eCard sent.
So share this post on Facebook, to 5 people or more, or send 5 eCards to your friends and family today. Every share and eCard sent before August 18 counts!
If you have a box of new, unopened diapers you’d like to donate, call Amanda at 604-589-1868 Ext. 243 for details on drop off times and location.
Being a new mom is hard enough. Let’s help make it easier.
